Connecticut, A Place for Animal Lovers
Connecticut, A Place for Animal Lovers
That’s right. Animal lovers are going to have a field day in Connecticut. We want to give a friendly reminder before we continue. Do not forget your digital camera. You will know why as we go along.
Hundreds of species can be seen in the state of Connecticut. You do not have to go to Africa to get a close look at a real tiger. If tigers are too much for you, there are also wolves and bison around. Don’t worry. As far as we know, nobody has died from visiting the zoos in the state.
Speaking of zoos, include the Beardsley Zoo in your itinerary. It is located in Bridgeport. This zoo is home to more than 300 animals from South and North America some of which are endangered or threatened such as Siberian Tiger, golden lion tamarin, ocelot, and red wolf. Besides wild animals, Beardsley Zoo also has dogs and farmyard animals like sheep, goats, cows, and pigs.
If you are a fan of buffalo, go to Brooklyn’s Creamery Brook Bison. This farm has been around since the 1990s. The owners are considerate enough to offer guided tours all year round. We advise you take advantage of their promotion from July to September. During these months, tourists can ride a wagon for forty minutes and get front row seats on “A Day at a Dairy Farm”. The farm has petting and ice-cream and butter-making areas too.
